Privacy policy
Recruit Book (recruitbook.net) lets you book a meeting with a recruitment consultant online. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it to the minimum needed to arrange your meeting.
Who we are
Recruit Book is responsible for the information described here. To contact us, reply to your booking invite or ask the consultant you booked with.
If you book a meeting
When you book, we collect:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number, if you give one (it's required for phone-call meetings);
- anything you write in the notes box;
- the meeting you chose, its time, and your time zone.
We use this only to arrange the meeting you asked for. It's added to the consultant's Google Calendar as a meeting with you as a guest, and Google sends you a calendar invite (with a Google Meet link for video calls). We don't keep a separate copy in our own database.
If you're a consultant
Consultants sign in with Google. From Google we receive only your name and email address. We store your booking page settings (page name, working hours and meeting types) so your page works.
To offer only times you're free, we check your Google Calendar's free/busy information. We see when you're busy, not what your meetings are about. When someone books, we add the meeting to your calendar (or, for approved personal accounts, to our shared booking calendar with you invited).
Recruit Book's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide the booking features described here, never for advertising, and we don't sell it or let people read it except where needed to run the service, for security, or where the law requires.
Why we're allowed to use it
We use your information because you asked us to arrange a meeting (taking steps at your request), and for consultants, to provide the booking page they've chosen to use (our legitimate interest in running the service).
Who we share it with
- The consultant you book with, so they can hold the meeting.
- Google, which provides sign-in, Google Calendar and Google Meet.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores consultants' page settings.
We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Cookies
People booking a meeting get no cookies from us. Consultants who sign in get one cookie that keeps them signed in for up to 7 days. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Booking details stay in the consultant's calendar for as long as they keep the meeting there.
- A consultant's page settings are kept until they ask us to delete them, or their access is removed.
- Sign-in cookies expire after 7 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. To cancel or change a booking, reply to or decline the calendar invite, or contact the consultant. For anything else, reply to your booking invite and we'll reply within one month.
If you're in the UK and unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Keeping it safe
The site only works over a secure (https) connection. Access to calendars is limited to what's described above, and the keys that allow it are stored securely and never shown in the website.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
